If you live in Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, or Taichung area and happen to be bored hanging around in your city, try to escape to a small county called Miaoli, the home for Hakka culture in Taiwan. There are five major tourist destinations in Miaoli: Sanyi (三義), Dahu (大湖), Taian (泰安), Mingde (明德), and (of course) Nanzhuang (南庄), the one that we will talk about in this post. Miaoli can be reached easily by bus or train from four cities mentioned earlier.

Taipei offers you many great things to be enjoyed. Yet, sometimes we need to take a distance from it because of its hectic dynamic environment. On the other hand, it is hard to get a long holiday here. Our best option is by capitalizing our weekends. We started looking for a close city to visit and Yilan caught our eyes. It has many bus/train services available and can be reached within an hour from Taipei. So, it is surely a good option for a short vacation.
