Having been wanting to have a “proper” x-course-meal all along, finally we had the chance to have a Christmas celebration dinner (yeah, 6 months ago :)) in one of restaurant chains by 王品; the F&B giant carrying brands like Wang Steak and Tasty.
Thanks to H for introducing this place ;-). Tokiya, or known in Chinese as 陶板屋, presents patron with 6-course-meal including Salad, Antipasto, Soup, Carbo-Main, Meat-Main, and Dessert. They are prepared with both Chinese and English menus – making everyone happy and ready-in-no-time to order. This in my opinion is a small thing that actually helps a lot in overall dining experience, specifically for foreigners. I mean, we are cool with Chinese menu, but well if there is English one, complete with more explanations, who would feel discontent?
Let’s just jump to the photos of what we chose, shall we? By the way for the full menu you can check it out here (Chinese) or here (English).
Both tasted not bad actually. But for me I prefer the fresh zest of the fruit salad with hints of seafood aroma.
Next came our antipastos.
Honestly we can’t recall accurately how these two tasted. But considering my fondness for mushroom, I guess I liked what I ordered.
Third course in line is soup. We chose these two (if i’m not mistaken they should be Burdock Chicken Soup and Geoduck and Fish Consomme)
Having about a third of our stomach capacity filled, we moved to main course – rice rolls. There are only two options, so we managed to try them both.
We found nothing special in both the ricey mains. We started to feel stuffiness around our bellies. Hanging on there, just 2 more courses to go then we were done.
Without long pause, waitress brought our meaty mains. This was the moment of truth. As part of joint bringing Wang Steak, we truly hoped we wouldn’t be dissatisfied with their steaks.
Last but not least, desserts! We hardly were able to finish these as 5 courses are well.. quite a lot, although each portion is not huge.
Presenting..
We also were given selections of drinks, both hot and cold. We decided on Dark Plum Juice and Iced Fruit Tea.
Overall we felt appeased. It was a warm fulfilling Christmas dinner with affordable price-tag.
PS: Pardon the uber long publishing delay >.<
