What would suit your mood best when it is raining outside? For us, it would be staying indoor and lazing out, enjoying the cool breeze (of aircon ), and yes of course we mean during weekends – how we wish we can do this on weekdays too 😛 . So for this time, we are so much motivated to share with you a place we consider our very own hide-out base.
Do you ever feel like it is super duper hard and troublesome on weekends to get a place to chill in the central (i.e. Zhongxiao Dunhua, Xinyi district, etc)? We are so much more knowledgable now that we are learning better and better on feasible places to shoot for these needs. Location, does help significantly.
So, for this post, we pick a cafe in the cozy neighborhood of Dapinglin in southern area of New Taipei City. I bet nobody will ever find this place by chance as it is situated in the most inaccessible possible way. However, this is a good point for us as it means there is better chance for us to just drop by here anytime we want and still be able to grab some seats.
Just perfect for a situation we encountered few weekends ago whereby the rains just fall without notice, forcing us to forego our plans on hands. 😥 Well not to be covered in sadness too long, let’s just quickly brief you our latest finding!
Peace & Love cafe was opened in late 2013 with a not amateurish experience of coffee brewing. We can see they have a collection that is showcased in the cafe as well. Looking at this, we were not too disappointed when we were presented with the menu as it is indeed quite limited. During our visit, the cafe was decently packed. We were quite lucky to grab the second last available table. There were some big groups, we guessed one was clearly family and another one was group of friends or colleagues celebrating a member’s birthday.
As we had our lunch beforehand, we quickly ordered each a heartwarming beverage to cope with the cool weather. I had my regular, Green Tea Latte, and my partner picked something unique (I admit I was quite surprised), a kind of tea called Dammann Freres (Paris) of Citrus flavor. It didn’t disappoint, both the taste and presentation. It was our first time to have that way of tea serving.
By the way, they serve all-day-brunch (which we are planning to try!) there along with choices of beverages which you can find in below menu. Who knows we’ll meet you in our next visit to Peace & Love Cafe! Peace yo~ 😉

Coffee is really very well prepared. However, the food and service needs a lot of improvement. Be prepared for the unpleasant surprise if you are there for the full experience.

Wow Liao you seem very familiar with this place. Thanks so much for notifying us. Any other good place in mind you’d suggest to us? 🙂
