Aranzi Aronzo アランジアロンゾ (阿朗基咖啡)

Two more days left for this long weekend holiday…any plan yet? Hopefully this post can be one option to be considered? 😉 Have you heard of the brand ‘Aranzi Aronzo‘ before? How about these characters: “Usagi“, “Kappa“, “Panda“, and bad guy “Warumono“, anything familiar? Aranzi Aronzo started offby two ladies in Japan as a home original goods manufacturer. Styled as kawaii, Japanese for cute/adorable, it effectively created colourful attractive characters featured in their notebooks, t-shirts, postcards, and now cakes as well as drinks too.

Prior to coming to Taiwan, we have no awareness of Aranzi Aranzo’s cute characters, let be the brand itself (so it’s totally normal if you don’t know about it at all – read: you’re not weird 😛 ). However it can easily be inferred that it comes from Japan. How come? Well, let’s just say we have some “ability to see”.  😆

Actually, we finally came to this level of curiosity for finding out about what Aranzi Aronzo actually is after we saw it became so popular in stamp-collecting-souvenirs ran by convenience stores like 7-eleven or Family Mart couple months ago. Back then, everybody all over Taiwan would run out to get their mugs or pens, quickly after the campaign started. We wondered: Why? At that time, we didn’t even know who that black ugly cat is (is it even a cat? LOL).

We have aimed to visit this cute cafe for quite sometimes as it does look attractive with its characters and all. But noticing its most locations are in Taipei city’s department stores, we are sure we did not want to compete with the crowds. Lucky enough they finally opened an outlet in Banqiao suburb, so we decided on a time and made a go.

The cafe itself looks very noticeable among other restaurants/cafes in the mall. As we visited them during Christmas we could see their effort in matching to the season too (including the food, make sure to see the next pictures).

Overall menu is more suitable for light meal like tea time or snack, as the only main they provide is pasta (and it comes in just three choices). Upon seated and made order, we finally realized we probably were not their targeted audience; most of the patrons around us are families – those with children. Whoopss so probably our taste is just like them?

We were quite happy as we didn’t have high expectation on the taste. We were satisfied on the presentation and well… the taste is not that bad either. You can try it once and it’s totally okay not coming back as there are a lot of other places out there. For those with kids, this place is really appropriate and 100% kids friendly, don’t hesitate to drop by!

PS. No booking accepted on weekends; just come a bit early (don’t go when you’re hungry!) to avoid long wait. Oh! Or while waiting, you can browse their little shop too  🙂
