Begin & co.

One sunny afternoon in midst of Taipei chilly winter, my buddy and I decided to have a lunch date while enjoying the start of our winter break. We agreed beforehand to take a peek at a cafe just across Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (松山文創園區) which was the “it place” for hangout just opened in mid 2013.Hoping the hype has gone down we dropped by and was surprised there was still people waiting outside, but well much less than previous time passing by. When we checked with the waitress, we got queue number 30-something while at that time the running number just hit number 6. Crazy? No, it’s insane!

Upon hearing that, what do you think we do? Of course (since we were sane) we left that place and found other place to dine. Walking around the area for quite a bit, we decided to quickly settle lunch at the nearest cafe with available table, Begin & co. Looking at the cafe, it seemed very new, and even there is no available information online when I tried to do some research to provide here. It is easy to find though, it is located just above the Comedy Club.

There are about 20 seats available in the confined space. Decoration was simple, surprisingly it was still christmas-themed!  😯 Hmm they better keep up to have more patrons, really. Food wise, not much options. Just some varieties of sandwiches and waffles, as well as drinks like tea and coffee. Maybe they are focused on light, tea-time spot. As we were quite hungry, we ordered their only set menu with choices of curry rice with chicken or pork katsu with cheese. Taste was acceptable, wondering if it was the Japanese instant curry packet they used  😕

P.S. We have made early reservation at the “it place” for next month, so…please patiently bare with us, will definitely share if it is a great one!
