Au Jardin (Bistro du Vin)

It was Oct 22! So what?! Yeah well, there was just small thing worth celebrating, so we were looking for a place to have dinner. Learning there is a nice bistro opened by Singapore Les Amis’s ex-chef, off we dialed RSVP’ing for the night.

Location wise it was sited at quiet area in Songshan district, about 15-minutes-away-walk from Nanjing East Road MRT station. Outer look of the bistro was not so appealing, and peeping through the window there was like no guests dining at all – Gosh, what did I do making unnecessary reservation in the afternoon off I thought. Anyway since we had traveled all the way specifically heading to the restaurant, why don’t we just give it a try? Right? This was the beginning of our so-so dinner.

Upon flipping through their menu, we quickly decided what we want for the night (there are not much choices as well though). Too bad there is no set menu for dinner.

Top to bottom: Calamari Fritter with Lemon Aioli which tasted just fine. Disappointing Roasted Duck Confit with Seasonal Vegetables, Chicken Jus. Satisfying portion of Grilled Pork Ribs served with salad and Truffle fries.

Other foods they offer include pastas, steaks and burgers, and also Singaporean food like laksa and noodles. Although food may not be very substantial, at least the service we experienced was.
