Pasta Bar (義大利麵の達人)

Monday Blue?! Nope-nope! Monday Red and Green probably I would say.. 😆 coz Christmas is coming? Partly true, but another reason is because we had reddish and greenish yummy pastas for our dinner!

The day before, when we were roaming around Carrefour for a shopping session, my partner got an instant pasta sampler. This actually triggered his craving for Pasta. So we made a deal to have Pasta for our dinner on Monday. Having decided our meeting location at 西門 (Ximen) MRT Station, we had no clear place in mind where to slurp perfectly-cooked strands of pasta  :-D. I’ve tried to make an effort to check out some Pasta places nearby, but only Tamago-Ya came out as an option – it is famous more for the Omelette Rice, maybe we can put this in our future list.

After roaming around the area quite a while, a Risotto place attracted us.. but yeah well, we came for Pasta, so of course.. stick to the plan!  😉 There is this eye-catchy diner just right across the street where it seemed full of people eating; turned out it was serving Pasta. Pasta Bar (義大利麵の達人) is an affordable place offering commendable quality of Pasta. It was our first visit, and we certainly concluded it wouldn’t be our last. I was honestly impressed with my choice of dish.. can’t wait any longer to share with you.. let’s quickly move to the food then!

Pasta Bar surely offers wide choices of Pasta. You can check it out from their menu here:

Menu

They also provide set menu with 3 different prices: Combo A (200 NTD) comes with a Pasta + Bread + Soup/Drink. Combo B (210 NTD) comes with a Pasta + Soup + Drink. Combo C (230 NTD) is the most complete menu available: a Pasta + Bread + Soup + Drink. So their practice is that you come to the counter, make your order, take your table number and someone will bring you to your seat. Next step? Just sit, relax, and wait for your order to be delivered (no worries, it won’t take that long!).

For the soup, you can choose either Corn Seafood or Tomato Vegetable soup. And for the drink, you can freely decide on any item under “Drinks” list (teas, soft drinks, or yogurts).

My partner’s choice was Combo B with Meats Sauce Tomato as his main dish, Tomato Vegetable soup and Black Tea. My selection was also Combo B, but with different items: Pesto Sauce Smoked Duck for the Pasta, Corn Seafood for the soup and Orange Yogurt for the drink.

Tomato Vegetable Soup and Corn Seafood Soup

I kinda pitied my partner to have chosen the ‘minestroney’ soup. He even complained how come my soup had bits of prawns and cuttlefish (of course, it was Corn Seafood soup  :-P) and what he had in his was only tomatoes and carrots.

Drinks: Orange Yogurt and Black Tea

Drinks were..yeah well..normal.

Meats Sauce Tomato

His Pasta tasted alrite, like how a tomato based spaghetti should normally tastes. It came with considerable amount of bacon as well, considered worth it.

Pesto Sauce Smoked Duck

My Pasta impressed me (again I repeated this statement). It had a nice taste of Pesto, well-balanced (light, not too creamy) and topped with big-and-in-generous-amount smoked duck slices (although I think it would be even better if they could cut them a bit smaller he-he).

Overall dining experience was satisfying, I’d love to pay them next visits to check out their other available Pastas. Oh by the way, got what I mean with “reddish and greenish yummy pastas” in the beginning of this post now, don’t cha?
